Protecting Australia's Stonehenge
Australia's Stonehenge is in danger of destruction. Patterson's talk and planned book is to promote the mission to Protect the Site for future generations.
More than six years after the. 2013. rediscovery of Australia’s Stonehenge, and cattle still trample over it, vehicles drive on it, artifacts have been taken and barbed wire fences divide it. Despite the promises of government, parts of it have already been bulldozed. The Traditional People, due to the post invasion genocide, have been unable to protect it.
The talk and upcoming book is to raise awareness of the present and real danger of this sacred place, of universal importance, being completely destroyed and forever lost to humankind.
The standing stones site was recently threatened when the area was considered for rezoning. To protect it from further bulldozing a petition, on Change.org to Protect Australia's Stonehenge gained more than 7,000 signatures.
